The Full Story
Our belief in Ancient Medicine
Before the advent of pharmaceuticals, all medicine was herb based. From plants and trees, and other forest treasures which were used in combinations to treat various diseases, ailments, etc. These potent healing powers are very much a part of nature. Deepvara is our way of getting some of those treasures to you, to rekindle our connection with nature, which is crucial for our mental, physical and spiritual well-being.

The healing power of nature is the inherent power of nature to create, heal, restore balance.
The intelligent force of life – one that strives for balance and health, one that can heal us.
It is in our bodies.
It is in our food.
It is in our plant medicine.
It is an inherent force in our natural world.
HEALING POWERS OF NATURE
The science.
Being in nature increases dopamine and serotonin in our brains – chemicals that are associated with an improved sense of satisfaction and motivation. Nature reduces anger, stress, and aggression. It promotes a sense of community, it promotes healthy babies. Nature is a powerful antidepressant. No big words needed, go to a place with trees and just be for sometime, feel it yourself.
POWER OF SCENT
The science.
Scents bypass the thalamus and go straight to the brain's smell center, known as the olfactory bulb.It is our most primitive sense and yet is one of the most powerful senses that cannot be turned off. The olfactory bulb is directly connected to the amygdala and hippocampus, which might explain why the smell of something can so immediately trigger a detailed memory or even intense emotion.

Your sense of smell enriches your experience of the world around you.
Different scents can change your mood, transport you back to a distant memory, and may even help you bond with loved ones. Your ability to smell also plays a key role in your health.

Aromatherapy is a way of absorbing the healing powers of nature through the power of scent.
In the right proportions and combinations, the therapeutic powers of these aromatic essential oils can benefit us in a holistic manner - with physical relief, as well as mental and emotional well-being.
WHAT IS AROMATHERAPY?
Helping you relax is probably the most widely-known use of aromatherapy. Many essential oils act on your brain, nervous system, and muscles to promote feelings of comfort and relaxation.
Essential oils are derived from any plant parts like flowers, leaves, fruits, or even the resin from the bark of the tree. They are derived through steam- distillation or cold-pressing methods, and the tiresome process leaves us with the very essence of the plant - and hence its powers to heal, revive, grow.
Lavender, for example, affects the parasympathetic nervous system and helps regulate bodily processes such as heart rate, breathing, and hormones. Studies have shown that smelling lavender also increases certain patterns of alpha waves in the brain associated with relaxing.

Nature's magic in a bottle
Our founder has grown up surrounded by scents since she was little girl. She remembers instances of pure joy when jumping into piles of flowers which were collected to be steam-distilled into rose water, or mogra water. She loved her time in gardens or rolling down grass-laden hills, or even talking to plants. Even today, she always finds magic when she is surrounded by nature, it's amazing how much a little light (sunshine) can do for us.

She found the disconnect from nature in the cities she worked in and the growing physical and mental health issues in people around her. Somehow, being surrounded by nature still brought her peace. Her absolute wonder towards nature brought her study it even more deeply, and with her parental background in fragrances and her study in Aromatherapy, she decided to start something which would bring these blessings of nature closer to us.
